Manchester Wine School is an independent wine education and event company not owned by or linked to any wine merchants or retailers. We run Wine Tastings and Wine Courses for people who enjoy wine and would like to learn more about it. No previous wine tasting experience is necessary.

We focus on enjoying wine and learning about it in a relaxed setting, with friendly people. If you know what you like and want to find out why - or if you want to broaden your wine enjoyment and knowledge - we can help.

All Tastings & Courses are also available as Gift Vouchers.

Our courses and events suit all levels of wine knowledge and experience - starting with the 8 week World Tour course , which provides a great introduction to wine covering a wide range of topics in a virtual journey to 12 different countries. Our shorter 4 week courses enable you to sample different countries and grapes allowing you to gain a deeper insight into a country or specific region, while our Saturday Introduction course is a great way of immersing yourself in the subject through a leisurely tasting of over 12 delicious wines.

We also run courses for the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Foundation and Intermediate Exams- the internationally recognised qualifications for the wine trade which are also excellent to take if you want to expand your knowledge in a more formal way.

In addition One Evening Tastings provide the opportunity either to sample a tasting for the first time or to broaden your awareness and potential enjoyment of wine.

All of our courses and events are a great way to meet people who share a fascination with wine. Do try one - we are sure you’ll enjoy it!

We also design and deliver Corporate Events or Private Parties which can be organised at a venue of your choice and tailored to meet your requirements and budget.

Venue and Times

Manchester Wine School tasting and events are run at Jurys Inn Hotel, in the heart of the city. It is located beside the Concert Hall and Manchester Central (formally known as G-Mex Exhibition Centre), on the doorstep of the city's main shopping streets, cafés and bars. The hotel is easily accessible from Piccadilly station (via metro link). Parking is available just 2 minutes from the hotel and the city centre is just a short stroll away.
